Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and before the turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie take over, Bolivar Parks & Recreation has a fun
way to get the whole family moving!
The 6th Annual Gobblin' & Hobblin' 5K & 3K Fun Run returns Saturday, November 21, 2026, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and friends for a morning of fresh air, exercise, and a little pre-Thanksgiving fun.
Who says Thanksgiving traditions have to start at the dinner table?
For six years, Gobblin' & Hobblin' has been giving the Bolivar community a reason to lace up their shoes and enjoy some time outdoors before the holiday rush begins.
And one of the best things about this event? You don't have to be a runner to enjoy it!
Whether you're a competitive runner looking to finish the year strong, a parent wanting to get the kids outside, or someone who simply enjoys a morning walk with friends, there's a place for you at Gobblin' & Hobblin'.
Make It a Family Tradition
With both a timed 5K and a shorter 3K Fun Run, everyone can participate at their own pace. Bring the kids, invite the grandparents, gather your friends, or even bring your four-legged walking buddy!
It's a great opportunity to put down the phones, spend time together, and make some memories before the busy Thanksgiving holiday.
And once everyone crosses the finish line, the fun doesn't have to end. Participants can enjoy refreshments and a chance to win donated raffle prizes.
A Different Kind of Race Experience
One thing that makes Gobblin' & Hobblin' stand out is its unique setting.
Instead of running alongside traffic on busy city streets, participants will travel through areas surrounding Greenwood Cemetery and the Bolivar Municipal Golf Course.
It's a chance to experience a different side of Bolivar while enjoying a morning with the local running and walking community.
There's Still Time to Join the Fun!
The event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, at the Bolivar Recreation & Aquatic Center.
Don't need another race shirt? No problem! Registration options without a shirt are available, and children ages 3 and under can participate for free.
So before you settle in for Thanksgiving dinner, why not start the holiday season with something fun, active, and memorable?
Grab your family, call a friend, and make plans to Gobblin' & Hobblin' in Bolivar!
