For more than 30 years, the Halloween Hustle 5K & 10K has brought runners, families and the Springfield community
together for a Halloween tradition that is about much more than crossing the finish line.
As one of the longest-running races in Springfield, the Halloween Hustle has become a fixture on the local running calendar—and its impact reaches far beyond race day. Over the years, the event has helped raise more than $400,000 for community nonprofits, turning miles into meaningful support for organizations working to make Springfield a better place.
This year, the tradition continues on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at City Utilities.
Run for a Cause
Every step of the Halloween Hustle helps support the local community. For more than three decades, participants have laced up their shoes knowing that their registration dollars help make a difference for local nonprofit organizations.
That $400,000-plus milestone represents thousands of runners, volunteers, sponsors and community supporters coming together over the years with one common goal: giving back while having a great time.

More Than 30 Years of Memories
Races come and go, but few have the staying power of the Halloween Hustle. For more than three decades, generations of Springfield-area runners have made this event part of their lives.
Some participants return year after year. Others are discovering the race for the first time. Together, they continue a tradition built on community, fitness, fun and giving back.
After more than 30 years, the Halloween Hustle isn't just another race on the calendar—it's a piece of Springfield's running history.
