Our local running organization, Ozark Moutain Ridge Runners has released their Summer Calendar of events! Get involved it the fitness community and join them at one or all of their events. Everyone is welcome to attend. They have group 
runs, running seminars and of course the Annual Potluck Picnic!
June 3: National Running Day, Nathanael Greene/Lake Drummond, 6pm. National Running Day is held annually on the first Wednesday in June, it's a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running.
June 11: Poker Run benefiting Polk County Humane Society, 6pm. PCHS is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that depends on philanthropic gifts and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are a no-kill animal shelter serving Polk County and work with surrounding communities and animal welfare groups in rural southwest Missouri. Between 2007 and 2009, we averaged 400 adoptions per year, helping hundreds of abandoned, sick, abused, and neglected animals from throughout the Greater Bolivar area.
June 16: Running Seminar - Injury Prevention and Recovery, Ridge Runners Sports, 6pm
June 25: Poker Run benefiting Harmony House, 6pm. The mission of Harmony House is to provide shelter, advocacy and education to survivors of domestic violence and promote the principle that all individuals have the right to a life free of abuse.
June 30: Running Seminar - Ultra-Running: Going the Distance, Ultramax Sports, 6pm
July 9: Poker Run benefiting Gathering Friends, 6pm.
July 14: Running Seminar - Creating and Adapting Your Race Plan, Ridge Runner Sports, 6pm
July 23: Poker Run benefiting Ozarks Food Harvest, 6pm. Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving more than 200 hunger-relief organizations across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches nearly 30,000 individuals weekly and distributes more than 15 million pounds of food annually.
