Ozark, MO - Friday, May 2, 2014, the Ozark Kiwanis Club hosted the Kiwanis 5K Race for Kids and Fun Mile at Ozark Upper Elementary School.  Proceeds from this event benefited Operation Half-Pint which provides snack milk for underprivileged kids age four through sixth grade in the Ozark School System.

The goal of the Kiwanis Club is to promote fitness among our children and youth while offering an event in which families with children of all ages can participate. This event will also bring runners from around Southwest Missouri to Ozark, increasing the city's visibility and showcasing its commitment to healthy living.

The Ozark Kiwanis Club is a local service organization part of a larger international organization
whose main purpose is to serve the children of the world. The club meets each Tuesday at noon at
the Belgian Waffle House in Ozark. The club service projects includes providing eye glasses to
needy students in the Ozark School System, financially support the Children's Smile Center and
various other local children's projects. To become part of a rewarding club and support the children
of our area speak with a Kiwanis Club member the day of the race or join us for a club meeting.

Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and participants for helping to support such a great cause.
