Come run in a fun and challenging half marathon, 10k, or half marathon relay in the beautiful Ozarks town of West Plains, MO. Not up for 13.1 or a 10k? Our Mindy's Run may be right for you. It is a 2.5 mile fun run/walk dedicated to the honor of a former West Plains runner. There's a race for everyone.
The Heart of the Ozarks Half Marathon is a chip timed event with a great course. It is a fast course, but there are several challenging hills that you'll tell your friends back home about. We offer all of the amenities of a much larger race, but with the personality and hospitality of a small town event. The course is very well marked and manned with plenty of excited volunteers. Aid Stations and port-a-pots are plentiful and are strategically located to help you along the way.
Half marathon, 10k, and Mindy's Run finishers receive a beautiful custom finisher's medal. All entrants get a comfortable race shirt and your choice of an extra swag item. Everyone is invited to enjoy all the home made, hot and tasty post race refreshments that you can eat. Hang out in the warm Historic Post Office Event Center and share stories with other racers while you wait a very short time for your awards. This race is extremely well organized. The course is marked very well and there are lots of excited, happy volunteers to help you along. You'll love the atmosphere of this race. Come run with us.

Important Race Week Information
Location: Historic Post Office Event Center; 204 East Main Street, West Plains, MO 65775
Start Finish Area: Main Street in front of The Historic Post Office Event Center.
Packet Pick Up: Holiday Inn Express Conference Room February 16 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Limited race day packet pick-up is available from 6:00-7:00 a.m. in The Historic Post Office Event Center near the starting line. West Plains area participants - please use the Friday time. Race day is very hectic and we need to reserve this time for our out of town friends, please be courteous in this.
Race Day Registration Is Discouraged. Why wait until the last minute and get the left overs? Doesn't make sense. Sign up early and have the best experience available.
Race Day Schedule:
6:00-7:00: Limited Race Day Packet Pick-Up
7:20-7:25: Gather in Start area
7:25: Star Spangled Banner
7:30: Start all races
Warm food and awards are available in the Historic Post Office after the post race.
There Will be Minimal Pre-Race Instructions - Let's Go Run!
The courses will be well marked with shoe shaped stencils and arrows at each turn. If you don't see any arrows don't turn. The first loop of the 13.1 will be marked with orange arrows. They will transition to green on the second loop. They will continue as green to the finish. (More details can be found on the "Race Information" page.)
Aid Stations are strategically located along the course. Volunteers and city officials are located at each turn. If you are in need of any medical attention let one of these people know and an help will be dispatched to you.
Temperatures may be cold. It's February after all. Please prepare appropriately!!!
