Last year we were joined by hundreds of visitors and guests to watch the 400+ runners complete the first ever half marathon to be held in Nixa. All of the planing and hard work from our 20 sponsors and forty or more volunteers went to benefit the Nixa Azalea Festival Association whose efforts go to improve the Nixa community and the development of botanical gardens in the county.
Building on last year’s success, we are working hard to provide the community with the next annual Azalea Run that will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2014. Modestly we hope to double the number of participants, sponsors and guests!
New this year will be a finisher lapel pin for everyone that competes in the 5K, 10K and half. We will unveil the new custom 5 inch finisher’s medal (watch the video!) for the half marathon along with the shirt designs, team awards and planned entertainment. Like last year we will be awarding a total of 240 age division medals that promise to “sparkle” and everyone is guaranteed a tech shirt.
