Carl Junction, MO - Saturday, December 17, 2011, the 2nd Annual Jack Frost 5K/10 Miler was an enormous success. It more than doubled in size from last year’s first annual Jack Frost Run!! Proceeds benefitted McAuley Catholic High School in Joplin, MO.

Joplin, MO – Participants gathered for the Jingle Bell 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run at the MSSU Campus in Joplin, MO. The race benefitted the Southwest Missouri Running Camp. Please watch the video to learn more about the SWMO Running Camp!!

Republic, MO – Friday, December 2, 2011 the Republic Parks Board Reindeer Run 5K & Winter Walk had over 200 participants. Christmas lights lined the start and finish area of the park and participants were able to warm up by the bon fire. The overall male, Philip Canfield of Republic, who is only 13 years old, ran an exceptional time of 19:05. Close behind Philip was the overall female (and 2nd overall..males included), was Kim Jacobs of Republic with another excellent time of 20:12.
Runners and walkers were able to purchase Reindeer antlers and wear throughout the course, there was music, hot chocolate and coffee, plus other snacks available to participants. The overall Christmas atmosphere made this race a huge success.

Joplin, MO – Over 100 runners and walkers of all ages came out Saturday evening, November 19, 2011 to the Legs & Lager 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run benefiting SWMO Running Camps. This was the final race in the 3 part series; those who participated in all three races received a finisher’s medal. Representatives from Ozark Fence grilled hot dogs for participants; post race beer was available for those over 21, plus other beverages and snacks.

Clever, MO – Shelby’s Run 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run, Saturday, November 19, 2011
Over 250 runners and walkers participated in the 5th Anniversary of Shelby’s Run 5K, 10K and 1 Mile Walk in support of a great cause. Other than a little wind, the weather was great and the event was a huge success.

Joplin, MO – ADA STOP Diabetes 5k, November 5, 20ll
In conjunction with the ADA Festival, runners ran to “Stop Diabetes”. Runners were treated to a fantastic festival to bring awareness to Diabetes. The festival provided education on Diabetic products and gave away over 500 Diabetic Specialty shoes. Thank you to all of the vendors, volunteers, and participants for coming out and supporting a wonderful cause. On a side note I was able to run in the race myself with a wonderful young lady named Darci. The fastest 12 year old I know. Thank you again to everyone.

Joplin, MO – With over 200 zombies, vampires, prisoners, fairies, super heroes and various other monsters in participation, the first annual Twilight Thriller 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Joplin, MO began with a thriller of entertainment. A flash mob of zombies broke out, dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. The 1 mile fun run for the kids was to follow to get the running started. With the 5k and 10k runners starting shortly after, the race finished with plenty awards. The Titanic Attraction in Branson provided free admission passes for the best costume. Top over all and age category medals were given to their respective winners. The celebration included treats, hot dogs, caramel apples, and hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy. This is going to be an annual event you won’t want to miss!
